The essence of my Avant-garde Co-active Coaching

Avant-garde Co-active Coach
Avant-garde Co-active Coach

I work well with driven, passionate professionals + start-up entrepreneurs to find true clarity from their passion in achieving success. I help them to be comfortably daring in taking radicals steps to reach a fully lived life, work and business.

You and I will start our coaching by designing a safe, nurturing + collaborative alliance so I can meet your important goals in your career + life (usually 1-2 hours).

Then we proceed to schedule a minimum of 4 sessions of 30-45 mins. of either a face-to-face or by phone coaching.

Avant-garde Coaching is for you–if you desire to:
•Reinvigorate your life’s passion through coaching;
•Re-examine your dreams and goals in making it into a viable reality and success;
•Reignite your energy because sessions will help you gain wisdom, process these ideas and feelings into workable solutions towards life changing success, and
•Strengthen your “accountability” to oneself and others.

The other stuff about me:
I have a BS degree in Behavioral Science.
I worked as a Behavioral Trainer for 3 years and as a Clinical Psychologist for a year.
I took my MA in Clinical Psychology for 2 years but I decided not to continue as an amazing opportunity came up – to immigrate to Canada.

I was a certified Non-violent Crisis Intervention & Prevention Trainer for 7 years for profit & non-profit organization.

In my 14 years in Toronto, I got married, bought a house, became a successful Entrepreneur and continues to grow.

I’m an optimist, a dreamer and a visionary.
My purpose is to be an invocator to allow others to be daring and break-free from any barriers in achieving the “possibilities” in their life.

I have become a life coach after over 20 years of dynamic career with top ranking global companies. During those years I held jobs in advertising, marketing and general management on three different continents.

I am also a mother of an 18-years old creative genius and a partner to the best man on the planet. We share each other’s passions, dreams and memories about how we were changing schools, jobs and houses while moving our dog and our art collection around the globe.

Throughout my professional career I learned how to motivate people in variety of organizational cultures. I acquired tremendous technical knowledge and had to master the art of corporate politics. However my passion has always been in people development and in building culture of trust and inclusion.

I must confess that not everything I did was a success, but there had been a lot of great learning. I was lucky to work with the best experts, the most creative colleagues and bosses with super-brains and mega-hearts.

Looking back at my years in corporate world what I am most proud of today is the network of friends I have built all over the world. My fondest memories are those of people challenging their thinking, setting ambitious goals and helping each other to fulfill their wildest dreams.

This is why I become a life coach – I am fascinated by the limitless capacity of human spirit.

I am inspired by people driven by their inner values and reaching for the stars no matter what.

I don’t care about labels – job titles, social classes, nationalities, gender stereotypes – I am passionate about creativity, ingenuity and stamina of a quiet hero on a quest for happiness and fulfillment.

What is your quest?

Social Media: What’s in it for me?

Me and the world of social media platforms, where should I belong to conquer success in business and in life?

Image

Seek and you shall find.

That was my answer in this journey of entrepreneurship. And being a coach, I truly learned to follow my intuition (my hut: heart+gut) to help me find success and eliminate barriers. This led me to connect with Ferko from the land of fire and ice – Iceland.

Frantisek Borsik (Ferko) struck me as a  person who is driven and daring to find success.

He gave me a personalized and educational social media strategy that I would like to share with you, with Ferko’s permission as well. Here are my learning and his input:

1. Have a great website. Change it. Update. Be progressive.

Ferko said: First of all, before initiating any campaign in Google (or any other platform, possibly) you need to have a brand new web site. (Many reasons why. Google crawlers/spiders will consider your current web site like “poor” and Google will assume that you are not delivering good user experience on your web site in the first place, and therefore you will “earn” bad Quality Score).

The picture with big “P” or the equation of all equations in Google advertising: http://www.blurbpoint.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/SEA.png

He emphasized that all my social media platforms must be all linked together to obtain message consistency, in other words that’s just how proper branding works.

2. Mobile web site – it’s a must!

He said that: To demonstrate inevitable of having a mobile website today, some simple facts:

http://www.digitalbuzzblog.com/infographic-2013-mobile-growth-statistics/

http://baybusinesshelp.com/2013/10/10/why-smart-social-marketers-think-mobile-first-infographic/

http://venturebeat.com/2014/01/22/65-of-all-email-gets-opened-first-on-a-mobile-device-and-thats-great-news-for-marketers/

He continued:

I strongly do believe that after all this points you will come to realization that: (a) You need proper mobile web site or (b) at least   a “m.Your_website.ca” version of your website (cheaper, but not as good as proper mobile website).

To add even more emphasis…3 simple characters: IBM

http://ibmmobilefirst.tumblr.com — They see the future. And future is MOBILE (think smartphones, tablets and even wearables like Google Glasses, Google Watch etc.).

3. Logo – this is my brand.

He said that: Must be the same all over your online presence. In your’s email signature, through all your websites and blogs up to all social media profiles (should be visible even on your FB and Twitter, as we agreed to use both your personal accounts for business purposes too).

4. Social Media Marketing. You must be out there!

He said: So far we have FB and Twitter (profiles will be assessed and updated, settings changed if necessary). We need to open up:

 LinkedIn (company profile)

Google+

 — we should consider even Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram: http://www.mediabistro.com/alltwitter/files/2014/01/social-media-networks.png

Plus we need to assess and probably reinforce all your presence on websites of associations of coaches and everything that You are a member of and it’s related to your business.

 — then, “share” buttons every where, on all websites/blogs…to lead visitors to share/tweet/like/whatever you are posting.

5. Be a true expert. Give it for free.

I was a little uneasy about this. My friendly Saboteur would say: “Are you kidding yourself? Who will pay your bills/ rent?”

However, I found value to what he meant that: “lessons” are showcases of what I can do.

He said: Provide free Skype chat with potential client or anything like that.

Followed by with a little bit of reassurance, he said: we will discuss that and we will find something great!

Whew!

6. Use what I can leverage.

Ferko even considered using my background as a Filipino to leverage this.

How?

He said: I know that most of them are bilingual or even trilingual…but what about having a language version of your site even in Tagalog? For example, here in Iceland – literally 95% of the people speak English, but still – they really like all the people living here speak icelandic and you can approach them much better with icelandic etc.

I mean, I don’t know if it’s the same or similar for Filipinos…but I want just to ask.

Besides that, I believe that you have “product” tailored specifically for them, right?

Whether I will leverage it or not, he considered this point seriously for me. As for me, it’s a definite to think about that I could adapt or not.

7. Take advantage of the social media platforms. Continue to leverage the tech generation.

He said:…for example: “YouTube (although owned by Google) is the world’s second largest independent search engine. Every second of every day, 1,140 searches are performed on YouTube. Every minute, 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube.

 — in translation – You need to be there.

“Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn have very sophisticated search engines. Results can be filtered by name, gender, subject, geography, companies, and schools – however you want to slice and dice it. ”

 — You are searching, but more importantly, all the people out there are doing it. And they will do it even more in the next years..

8. Be a Linkedin Influencer. I say what?!

He said: It’s so..EASY .-)

When a member publishes a post on LinkedIn, their original content becomes part of their professional profile, is shared with their trusted network, and has the ability to reach the world’s largest group of professionals.

9. Headshots. Get one! It’s a must. So pucker up and put on your best foot forward (literally).

Ferko was not only my social media strategist/ consultant but my stylist (just being humorous). He made sure that I get professional headshots to use in all my social media profiles particularly in my website.

Well, I was proud to say I was ahead with him about this. But, I appreciate how thorough he is taking his role in my business.

I hope you found value here that you can use. You can connect with Ferko at Lindkedin as Frantisek Borsik if you would like a personalize strategy for your business.

Well, that’s it for now. My assignment from Ferko, I need to start working on my priorities with social media. What will be yours for your business?

When the gardener is planting his garden, he engages in making things happen. Then knowing the nature of how things grow he lets it happen. Nature takes over. The seeds follow their own blueprint, unfolding in their own design to bring bounty and beauty of the garden to fruition. The gardener does only what he needs to do: water, fertilize and weed.

Manifesting is about balancing the polarity of control and surrender. It’s balancing the involvement of your personality and the involvement of your spirit in the creation of your life’s journey – my will versus Thy Will.”

The power of poweful conversation led me to obtain this quote. I met with Gregory and he shared the quote of what became the essence of our conversation.  I was grateful to Gregory. I was grateful that through our exchange of ideas I gained greater clarity about my coaching practice and the essence of Avant-garde. What was the clarity? I am on a right path. Being an avant-garde is a way of life. Challenges are good. I came to a realization that I’m the sledge hammer of the barriers to possibilities.

Answer this: Who are you right now?

Circumstances may be completely against you, but intent will guide you. – Richie Mehta

What an exceptional phrase expressed by this Bollywood Director, Richie Mehta in the Toronto Star article: Glee meets Bollywood in new reality series.

I was inspired with that he said:  “circumstances may be completely against you, but intent will guide you” because this is true in any areas of our life whether you are seeking a new career, being an Entrepreneur or deepening your relationships.

When intent is authentic, our returns are far greater rewarding and satisfying. Truly, the journey is a road less traveled.

Curious….what are your intentions with your current circumstances?

5 Reasons You Should Never Settle

Be free. Be daring. Be authentic. Our choices are ours to rule but not to be ruled.

As I sit here to write this article, I’m in our hotel room overlooking the beach. The waves sound so close you feel like you can put your hand out the window and touch them. My girlfriend is making coffee. Her tanned skin is accentuated even further by the stark white walls. The rays of sun are coming through the blinds signaling a new day has begun. Michael Bublé is permeating the room from my laptop speakers.

Next to me on the table is this month’s copy of Esquire, the cover of which is beckoning us with “84 Things A Man Should Do Before He Dies.” And I sit here thinking to myself – no matter how many failures I face or how hard life becomes, I refuse to settle.

You can settle for less than you deserve in many areas of life. A job you can’t stand going to…

My answer to the “Big Questions”

I was not sure what is blog hopping until Patricia Weber, whom I got connected via Linkedin, showed me the opportunity to do so . It took me awhile to understand the process. However, I found myself more intrigued on how to get others interested to hop on with me. So, I continue to wonder and wander. It was easy to say that blog hop is about opportunity to connect, expanding network and possible revenue generating platform particularly to entrepreneurs like myself.

I also realized that since reasons are purely subjective then I may as well have fun with it.

So, dear readers and followers may I present to you the reality of blog hopping, my essence of doing so and my gratitude to Amanda and Lynita who said yes to go along with me.

First, may I present to you the catalyst for me, Patricia Weber:

Image

As Your Personal Energy Source, Patricia Weber supports and inspires introverts and baby boomers who want more energy and vitality to live life at full throttle. She is an internationally recognized expert on radio and in print as a Business Coach for Introverts. Coachville graduate, a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Certification and two-time award winner of Peninsula Women’s Networker of the Year (only the second member in its 30 years to receive this award twice).

Featured in numerous publications such as Entrepreneur, Training, etc. she knows what it takes to be successful and happy being authentic to a baby boomer introvert style. She is having a blast bringing her many passions into living.

If you are fed up with the often uncomfortable extrovert rules, if you are tired of being tired, be ready to be inspired, follow her blog at http://www.patricia-weber.com. Her current book, Communication Toolkit for Introverts: Essential Skills for Everyday Business Success is in it’s final editing with Impackt Publishing.

My gratitude to Patricia: I sense that you are generous, fun-loving and passionate. I am grateful for offering your assistance through my challenges in blog hopping. You were patient. Your achievements are truly inspirational.

In my journey of having fun with blog hopping, I wanted to be daring instead with what I’m going to share with you: the reality of blog hopping, my essence of doing so and my gratitude to the connections I made.

The reality:

I was supposed to blog hop about my writing process by answering the following questions:

1) What am I working on?

2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

3) Why do I write what I do?

4) How does your writing process work?

I dare not to answer them. I dare to take a different leap to answer on what is important to me at this time. After all, blog hopping for me is to have fun.

The other reality I faced was getting people on board. I suddenly felt my Saboteurs enveloped me: “You are not good enough! No one likes you! You are unknown that’s why they don’t want to blog hop with you!  Who are you anyways?”  These are my limiting beliefs particularly writing about my “writing process.” Gosh! I don’t even know how to process my thoughts at most times.

How did I confronted my Saboteurs?

  • Staying authentic.
  • I let my Saboteurs to be my best friend.
  • I reminded myself of the best learning thought I’ve learned thus far with my co-active coaching: “Nobody gets to be wrong.”

The essence of doing so:

To inspire and be inspired.

So,  I decided to “explore the big questions” as I was inspired from my last blog post and to inspire others to do the same. Here we go:

1. The world needs….

compassion, dignity, honesty and ownership to create a better humanity.

2. I believe…

that everyone has a choice, no one can force you to agree or disagree; that a leader is a servant first; that we’re bigger that we ever dream of; and we are made for something special and we will do something special.

3. Coaching is…

my practice, a transformational journey to be daring and reaching the possibilities.

4. I find joy  in…..

my conversations with family especially the smile from my sister, Marilag. Her innocence gives me the glimpse of heaven.

5. What is the purpose of human experience?

To empower one soul at a time so we can create harmony in our lives, in our relationships and community.

6. What do you know for sure?

We should never ever settle for what others have told us on what we should be. We should always create opportunities when they don’t present itself.

And right now, I’m creating this world through coaching at The Avant-garde Company because I believe that in each encounter we make, magic could happen. In every encounters you make, something special will spark a path for you to be where you wanted to be.

In order to keep the inspiration of blog hop going, I’ve tagged two of my awesome connections:

Exploring the Big Questions

An Interview with Louie Schwartzberg at Oprah’s Soul Sunday. This evoked a sense of peace, gratitude and more love for me.

The most poignant part of the interview was the “Finish This Sentence” from Oprah that Louie answered so majestically (in my opinion).

Moving Art
Work of Louie Schwartzberg

Guess what are those? Read on. Be inspired. Let’s explore the big questions together:

(O) What is a Soul?

(L) Window into a living universe that makes us celebrate life.

(O) The world needs….

(L) to live in harmony with nature in order to create a sustainable planet for the future of our children.

(O) I believe…

(L) that life is a force of energy.

(O) Art is….

(L) being in the creative zone and is a reflection of the creative energy of the living universe.

(O) Photography…

(L) is my practice and my way of connecting with the outside world.

(O) Nature is…

(L) truth manifesting the order and intelligence of a living universe.

(O) Beauty….

(L) is our heart opener that make us a fall in love with the planet in order to protect it.

(O) I find Joy  in…..

(L) capturing magic moments to  share with people.

(O) What is your definition of God…

(L) A sense of wonder at realizing that life is a force of energy and we need to celebrate life.

(O) What is the purpose of human experience…

(L) To be connected with the living universe and realize that you’re just  playing a small part in it.

(O) What do you know for sure?

(L) That everything is energy and life is change.

(O) What do you think happens when we die?

(L) The older we get does it seems that life accelerates get faster and faster and people say when they are about to die that life pass by before them? So, perhaps that  the moment you die it accelerates so fast  that puts you in a time warp where it puts in a portal of another universe.

Such inspiration. Our life is a platform full of inspiration. It just depends on how we take it.

If you will play along with me about “Finish This Sentence,” what would be yours on:

  1. What is Soul?
  2. The world needs….
  3. I believe…
  4. Art is….
  5. Photography/ Coaching/ Writing/  (your profession) is…
  6. Nature is…
  7. Beauty is…
  8. I find joy  in…..
  9. What is your definition of God?
  10. What is the purpose of human experience?
  11. What do you know for sure?
  12. What do you think happens when we die?
